New RCSD President Alfred Coletta, left, and immediate past President Jeffrey Rips

The following is a news release from the Rossmoor Community Services District (RCSD).

At the September meeting of the Board, President Jeffrey Rips stepped down as President. “I was hoping presentations would be longer tonight, so that I could postpone this moment,” President Rips joked, “but unfortunately, due to family obligations, I must step down from the office of President. It has been a true honor serving as President of this Board and a pleasure working with the Rossmoor community.”  Nominations were opened and 1st Vice President Alfred Coletta was nominated for the office of President. Director Coletta was unanimously approved by the Board. “I can’t think of a better person to lead us through the unique governance challenges ahead of us than Alfred Coletta,” said Director Rips. Nominations for 1st Vice President were then opened. Director Jeffrey Rips was nominated for that office. The vote was also unanimous for that appointment.

As he assumed his new seat at the dais, Coletta remarked, “This moment is bittersweet. I’m happy to be serving as the new President, but sad to see a great leader go.” The following individuals will serve as Board officers until annual Board elections are held at the January 2012 meeting of the Board.

President:                           Alfred Coletta
1st Vice President:            Jeffrey Rips
2nd Vice President:           Ron Casey

The RCSD Board members encouraged residents to be active, vocal, vigilant and involved. “Join the Rossmoor Preservation Committee, support the local Rossmoor businesses, tell your friends to support them too! Tell all of the business owners in the Rossmoor Shopping Village that you’re glad they’re in Rossmoor and you want them to stay.”
