ary DeLong, congressional candidate for the newly drawn 47th District, announced veteran politico Bill Christiansen as his on-site campaign manager.

“I am pleased to have received such overwhelming community support. Over the last several months, many 47th District residents have reached out to convey their support and interest in volunteering in the campaign,” said Gary DeLong. “Now, with Bill heading the campaign, I know he will use the momentum we’ve built and his insight into grassroots politics to take us to the next level.”

“We are thrilled to have Bill on board. He brings tremendous knowledge of both Orange County and Los Angeles County politics and valuable experience leading major political efforts in California. Recently, he served as the campaign manager for the successful Sandra Hutchens for Orange County Sheriff campaign,” said Meridian Pacific partner John Peschong, senior consultant for the DeLong campaign.

Bill Christiansen is an accomplished political advisor and organizer, having served in high-profile political leadership positions over the past 20 years. He has served as the Executive Director of the Republican Party of Orange County, as well as the Executive Director of both the Arizona and California Republican Parties, and most recently, UCLA’s Government & Community Relations Assistant Director. His valuable experience leading competitive political races combined with his aptitude to manage staff, volunteers, budgets and grassroots operations will help DeLong build a strong foundation for Election Day.

“I was excited to be asked by Gary to manage his congressional campaign,” stated Christiansen. “I believe in Gary’s vision of implementing common sense solutions to get our economy moving again and create jobs for our citizens.”

Gary DeLong works to make himself accessible online and believes in transparent government. Over the past few months, his Facebook presence and Twitter followers have grown significantly, indicating widespread support in his campaign.

Gary DeLong is a third generation Southern Californian who has lived in the Long Beach area for over 25 years. He is currently president of The RTP Group, a Southern California based telecommunications company. DeLong resides in Long Beach with his wife Dawna and daughters Danielle, Elizabeth and Katie.
