At the annual Cypress State of the City luncheon, Mayor Doug Bailey presented the City’s BRACE Award to Paul Hausback, Chief Financial Officer of Bandai America. In presenting the award, Mayor Bailey stated:
Bandai America Incorporated is a leader in introducing Japanese toy trends to the United States. Bandai is the manufacturer and master toy licensee of some of the most popular brands in children’s toys and entertainment today, including the Power Rangers, Ben 10, Dragon Ball Z, Harumika, and Tamagotchi.
Bandai America Incorporated, through the Bandai Foundation, generously contributes to our local community groups providing youth programs, such as the Boys & Girls Club of Cypress, Toys for Tots, and the City’s Challenger athletic programs for special needs children. The Bandai Foundation also participates in the City’s annual Adopt-A-Family program for the holidays, providing food, toys, clothing and gifts for six to eight families in need.
In March 2011, Bandai America lent a helping hand to the victims of the devastating earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan by hosting a drive-through donation collection event. That event raised $47,000 in relief aid for the victims of that tragic catastrophe. The Bandai Foundation also made a matching donation for personal contributions made to the relief effort.
The City of Cypress is very fortunate to have Bandai America Incorporated as an integral member of our community, and I am honored to present this award to Bandai today.
With us today is the Chief Financial Officer of Bandai, Mr. Paul Hausback. Paul is a seasoned financial professional, with over 25 years of diverse experience in finance, business and strategic planning, and business operations management. He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds an MBA from the University of Southern California.
Paul, the City of Cypress thanks you and Bandai American Incorporated for your support and commitment to the Cypress community.
On behalf of the City Council and city staff, it is my pleasure to present to Bandai Corporation the BRACE Business of the Year Award. Also, we would like to present to you this Certificate of Recognition of our appreciation.
