West Orange County Connectors Project freeway closures for the week of Feb. 12

The following information was released by the West Orange County Connectors Project of the Orange County Transit Authority (OCTA).

Falsework is temporary construction work on which a main work is wholly or partly build and supported until the main work is strong enough to support itself.

Nighttime closures are scheduled Sunday night, Feb. 12, through Saturday night, Feb. 18, to allow for pile driving and falsework installation as part of the reconstruction of the west half of the Valley View St. bridge; complete roadway paving, striping and continue falsework construction at the 7^th St. bridge.

East segment highlights

This week motorists traveling southbound on the I-405 freeway will notice the following changes:

The southbound I-405 to eastbound SR-22 connector was reduced from three lanes to two lanes. This configuration will remain over the next 12 months, to allow crews to finish constructing the new SR-22/I-405 carpool connector.
The southbound I-405 Bolsa Chica Road off-ramp was relocated. In the past this off-ramp was accessible from the southbound I-405/eastbound SR-22 connector. The southbound I-405 Bolsa Chica off-ramp is now accessible from the southbound I-405 freeway.

West segment highlights

The (between the I-605 freeway and Seal Beach Blvd.) will be closed between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.,Friday night, Feb. 17 and Saturday night, Feb. 18, the southbound I-405 will be closed between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.

Surface streets

Garden Gove Blvd. will be entirely closed from Valley View St. to the northbound I-405 Valley View St. off-ramp from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. from Sunday night, Feb. 12, through Saturday night, Feb. 18.
