The following information was released by the Cypress Festival committee.

The Chris Anderson Group (CAG), a hot local blues and rock band, has been selected as the winners of the Anaheim Ducks OC/LA Concert Series.

Bands from all over the greater Southern California area participated in this contest which began in October 2011. The final voting by fans was due on Feb. 4. CAG took home the Grand Prize.

CAG is well known to Cypress area residents as one of the featured entertainers at the Cypress Community Festival held on the fourth Saturday of July each summer. Festival goers thrill to the high energy music of Chris Anderson, Rich Smith and Mike Casper on the Festival Main Stage each year.

CAG loves to perform and currently plays eight to ten shows per month at numerous venues, such as Taps in Corona, Stubrik’s in Fullerton, and Lucille’s BBQ restaurants, all throughout Los Angeles County and Orange County.

As a result of winning the Ducks Concert Series, CAG will be performing on Thursday, March 1, at the Second Annual Rivalry Hold ‘em Poker Challenge. This event will take place at the San Manuel Casino located at 777 San Manuel Blvd. in Highland, CA. The show begins at 7 p.m.

The Grand Prize package also includes a pre-game performance by CAG and shows during intermissions at the Honda Center on March 16 when the Ducks take on the Los Angeles Kings.

When you attend at CAG show, you will hear Chris Anderson singing and playing his guitar, Rich Smith on the drums and Mike Casper on bass guitar. The group has been influenced by Chicago, Memphis and Texas style blues along with rock, soul and reggae. CAG’s live shows excite and electrify their audiences.

Whether they are playing original material or cover tunes, CAG live shows are always fun! Fans can follow CAG on Twitter or on Facebook.

Cypress-area residents are invited to hear the group at the 2012 Cypress Community Festival on Saturday, July 28. The Festival is held at Oak Knoll Park located at 5700 Orange Ave. in Cypress. This annual event attracts about 30,000 visitors and includes fun and entertainment for all ages. Information about the Festival is available at www.cypressfestival.com or follow the @CypressCAFest on Twitter and Facebook.
