About Roland Sands
Roland Sands was just 5 years old when his parents first put him on a motorcycle, and there has been no stopping him ever since.
His love of speed on two wheels took him to the professional racing ranks for 10 years. He set multiple track records around the world and was the 1998 American Motorcyclist Association 250GP champion.
However, 32 broken bones later, Roland decided to trade in his racing leathers for paper, pencil and a torch — designing products for noted motorcycle-wheel manufacturer Performance Machine as well as building custom motorcycles.
He founded RSD in 2005 and continues to shake up the motorcycle industry with ground-breaking motorcycle products, custom bikes and now leather and apparel.
Roland and his bikes have been featured in more than 400 magazine articles worldwide, including 100+ cover stories.
RSD projects have also appeared on television segments broadcast on MTV, SPEED Channel, ESPN2, Discovery Channel and the TLC networks.
RSD has worked on custom bike projects with celebrities and athletes as well as design projects with industry leaders including Harley-Davidson, Aprilia, Yamaha, Bell Helmets, Ducati, Dunlop, Honda, Toyota, Vance & Hines and Victory.
