The following information was released by Steven and Kim Masoner of Save Our Beach. Please note change of time.

Our Earth Day Beach Cleanup combined with helping the wonderful group that puts on “Run Seal Beach 5K/10K” make April 21 our biggest day of the year — and that means we really need your help.

We specifically need 20 volunteers to assist us with the Run Seal Beach event at the pier collecting recycle items from the 5,500 runners from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. If you’re available to help us with this great event please email kim@saveourbeach.org by Saturday, April 14, so we can provide you with all details.

Our beach clean-up this month will be back at our normal location at the 1st Street Beach Parking lot (1st and Ocean) starting at 11 a.m. (not our normal 9 a.m.) and ending at 2 p.m. This is a different time due to the incredible “Run Seal Beach” event earlier on Saturday, April 21. Free parking for the beach clean-up will be on 1st Street either side and the beach parking lot starting at 11 a.m. (Carpooling is highly recommended).

Our beach really needs some TLC since this area has not been thoroughly cleaned by our volunteers since October of last year. As always at our beach cleanup, Save Our Beach provides free parking, reusable trash bags, reusable gloves and community-service certificates.

As always – thank you for all of your support!
