Volunteers needed for senior lunch program

Los Alamitos Youth Center

The City of Los Alamitos Recreation and Community Services Department is in need of volunteers to assist in preparing, serving and delivering meals for the Senior Lunch program. Volunteer opportunities are available Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am and 12:30 pm. Drivers must be at least 18 years old.

Volunteer or just come for lunch! The Senior Lunch Program is available Monday – Friday to all persons 60 years of age and over, and their spouses of any age. Enjoy playing bingo, card games, or watch movies prior to lunch. Donations are suggested at $3 and reservations are required at least 2 days in advance.  Meal cost for under the age of 60 is $5. Meals are served at the Youth Center located at 10909 Oak Street and open between the hours of 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sign in no later than 11:15 am daily. Guests enjoy tasty meals as well as warm conversation and fellowship. Come by and pick up a monthly menu of meals, a wide variety of delicious, healthy lunches are served.

In addition, Senior Lunch and Bread Program offer seniors and low income families breads and pastries from local markets and restaurants. For more information, please call the site manager Linda Klein at 562-430-1073 ext. 526.
