The following information was released by the Travis Allen campaign for California State Assembly.

Candidate for the 72nd Assembly District Travis Allen has proudly signed the no new taxes pledge that his opponent Troy Edgar refused to sign.

The no new tax pledge is administered and recorded by Americans for Tax Reform and has been signed by all current Republican Assembly Members.

Travis Allen commented on signing the no new tax pledge, “Californians cannot afford to pay another dollar in taxes. We already pay the 2nd highest personal income tax, the 6th highest business tax, the 2nd highest gas tax and the highest capital gains tax in the entire United States.”

Travis Allen continued, “I am proud to sign a no new tax pledge promising the residents of the 72nd district that I will not increase taxes. Instead, I will actively work to reduce taxes and roll back the burdensome business regulations that are driving jobs, companies, and taxpayers out of our great state.”

Travis Allen also commented on Edgar’s unwillingness sign the pledge, “Troy Edgar has a history of supporting and voting for higher taxes. As a Councilman, Troy Edgar voted to support over a dozen local taxes and fees. It is not surprising that Troy Edgar would not sign a no tax pledge that he has violated multiple times. The citizens of the 72nd Assembly District deserve an Assemblyman that is not a career politician who says one thing and does another.”
