May 24, 2012

GRAND THEFT REPORT – 6:27 a.m. – 5400 block of Rome Ave. - The catalytic converter was stolen from a Volkswagen van overnight. The caller is reporting that his neighbor is also a victim. The neighbor is not home at this time. Report taken.
GRAND THEFT REPORT – 8:13 a.m. – 5400 block of Rome Ave. – The catalytic convertor was taken from a green Toyota pickup truck overnight. The loss is valued at over $950. Report taken.

VANDALISM REPORT – 10:45 a.m. – 8700 block of Cypress Ave. - Major damage caused by an axe or similar device. Damage is to an exterior door and shattered drinking fountain. Report taken.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES – 12:03 p.m. – 9500 block of Graham – Caller is not at the location, but has friends who live above the apartment and believe there is an active meth lab inside based on the strong odor coming from the apartment. Unit was unable to locate any suspicious odors.

FOOT PATROL – 11:46 a.m. – 5600 block of Lincoln Ave. - Contact with the male at the door. Out with two subjects. Requesting a female officer for a search. Requesting a blood technician. Female subject in custody for being under the influence of a controlled substance. At 8:44 p.m. the mother of the male subject called at stated that the male called a friend from Orange County Jail and told the friend that the female subject gave an alias name. The female has a felony want and has a warrant for possession of methamphetamine.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES – 11:52 a.m. – 6800 block of Amelia Wy. - The driver of the vehicle pulled up, got out, opened some type of a cage and let what the caller describes as ‘vermin’, possibly a large rat, out of the cage. The subject then walked into a neighbor’s house. Officers were unable to locate the subject.

May 27, 2012

CITIZEN ASSIST – 7:11 a.m. – 4300 block of Crescent Ave. - The caller says a male came knocking on his door and asked him to call the police. The caller put the subject on the phone. The subject identified himself and says that he is lost. The subject wanted a ride to Long Beach. Dispatch tried to assist him by charging his phone, but then the subject asked dispatch to call LA County Sheriff Leroy Baca. Dispatch told the subject they would not call the Sheriff, and he decided to walk home.
PETTY THEFT REPORT – 1:12 p.m. – 11500 block of Cozumel - Loss of a Colt 1911 .45 caliber pistol. No suspect information. Call cancelled because the owner found the gun. The caller’s son hid it while the caller was out of town. Incident unfounded.

May 28, 2012

PEDESTRIAN CHECK – 4:17 a.m. – Crescent/La Salle - Out with two graffiti suspects. Both subjects in custody for graffiti vandalism. The graffiti is in the hockey park. Notify Public Works for clean up at Arnold Park. The graffiti is racial slurs and concern for children at the park today regarding the holiday. Incident closed by arrest.
VANDALISM REPORT – 12:46 p.m. – 8700 block of Belmont - Unknown suspect cut a hole in the caller’s bedroom door that opens to the patio area. Caller desired counseling. Double pane glass etched on the outside, minimal damage. Log number given for documentation.

May 29, 2012

IDENTITY THEFT REPORT – 3:23 p.m. – 5600 block of Saint Ann - Caller ran his credit report and it shows him as a sex offender. Counseled.
EXTRA PATROL CHECK – 6:48 p.m. – 5100 block of Orange Ave. – Caller thinks there may be a senior prank tonight. Tomorrow is Ditch Day and past history the prank happens tonight.

May 30, 2012

COUNSELING – 12:45 a.m. – 9500 block of Graham - Suspicious caller did not provide the address of the problem or any details. Possible drugs. En route to Graham to smell for the odor of gas. The caller and her sister believe their neighbor sporadically leaks gasoline through their walls. While the officer was inside their apartment, they claimed to feel the effects. However, the officer did not smell or feel anything. Advice given.
CITIZEN ASSIST – 7:11 p.m. – 8600 block of Watson - Caller off of Watson and DeLong near the basketball courts. Caller dropped her keys in the sewer and needs help lifting off the manhole cover. Assisted.
