Savanna School District, school boundary map

The vote counts and percentages were released by the Orange County Registrar of Voters.

Most of Savanna School District is located just east of Orange County Breeze Country, although a tiny bit overlaps north of Katella Ave. and west of Knott Ave. The District is comprised of four schools: Cerritos, Hansen, Holder and Twila Reid.

The District put a bond measure on yesterday’s primary ballot that passed decisively with 1,312 yes votes (58.6%) as against 927 no votes (41.4%).

Both Cypress School District and Los Alamitos School District are in the middle of modernization projects funded by similar bond measures approved in the face of a weakening economy.

The passage of Savanna’s bond measure is yet another example of citizens willing to support schools if control of the money remains local.
