June 1, 2012

ILLEGALLY PARKED VEHICLE – 10:19 a.m. – 10000 block of Reagan St. - Sedan parked in front of the fire hydrant. This happens on a continual basis. Citation issued.
VIOLATION OF A COURT ORDER – 3:52 p.m. – 4300 block of Cerritos Ave. - The child exchange was supposed to occur at 3:15 p.m. after school. The mother disconnected the phone. The child was not at school, however sent a text message stating he was. Report taken.

June 2, 2012

PATROL CHECK – 7:27 a.m. – 3600 block of Cerritos Ave. - Regarding parents pulling into the business parking lot and dropping off their children for a large school function. This is causing a traffic hazard and disruption of the business. Los Alamitos High School is conducting SAT testing for the area, which created a major traffic problem for the surrounding businesses. Traffic control was conducted and officers would return at 12:15 for traffic control at SAT’s end.
FORGERY – 2:13 p.m. – 3500 block of Katella Ave. - Male subject turned in a withdrawal slip and removed $1,000 from an account. Afterwards, they discovered it was a fraudulent transaction. The caller has the driver’s license of the subject, unknown if it is fraudulent. Loss is $960.50 cash. Report taken.

June 3, 2012

WELFARE CHECK – 6:51 a.m. – 3400 block of Katella Ave. - Caller states a male came into the gas station asking for water for his dog. Caller states the dog appears to be deceased. Unit confirmed the dog is deceased. Long Beach Animal Control at the location. Incident handled by Animal Control.
VANDALISM REPORT – 7:07 p.m. – 11000 block of Ticonderoga Dr. - Caller heard a loud noise and now observes that her French doors to the back yard were broken. The caller believes an acquaintance could be responsible, but refused to say who. No report desired.

June 4, 2012

COUNSELING – 8:55 a.m. – 10000 block of Los Vaqueros Cr. - Possible civil issue regarding a company trying to bill the caller’s business for items they did not order. Caller looked up the company through the Better Business Bureau. Many report the company is a scam. Counseled the caller the return the product and not to pay for it.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES – 7:58 a.m. – 4000 block of Green Ave. - Caller can hear the sound of a little girl screaming, possibly being spanked by her parents. Counseled all parties, including the child, who was disciplined for hitting another child. Checks okay.

June 5, 2012

MUNICIPAL CODE VIOLATION – 11:17 a.m. – Farquhar/Maple - Political banner at the fence at the corner and the caller wants it removed. Message delivered to code enforcement and he said he would drive by and check on it.
FIRE – 9:01 p.m. – 4100 block of Howard Ave. - A palm tree on fire in the alley between Howard and Farquhar. The fire is confirmed out by the unit. An unknown suspect made a bonfire out of a cut palm stump.

June 6, 2012

DRUNK – 1:45 p.m. – Lexington/Green - Male subject stumbling in the rear alley. Subject bought two cans of Loco but doesn’t appear to be carrying them now. Unit has contact with the subject. Subject arrested for public intoxication.
DISTURBANCE (Family) – 2:51 p.m. – 3500 block of Green Ave. - Three females and a baby on the sidewalk in a loud disturbance. Females were determined to be having a loud conversation on the cell phone. Has “nosey” neighbors. Checks okay.

June 7, 2012

911 – 6:59 a.m. – 5100 block of Antietam Ave. - Caller called 911 four times making sure the police are checking for “winers” driving around and that there are no drunk drivers. The caller was advised to discontinue her use of 911 unless she has an emergency.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES – 5:33 p.m. – 10000 block of Los Alamitos Blvd. - Caller is at the location to pick up his pet. He found the door unlocked so he went inside to pick up his dogs. The caller has now been at the location for twenty minutes and still has not seen any employees. Per the caller, the owner is always at the location. The owner then returned from chasing a dog that got away. Call cancelled prior to dispatch.
