RCSD looking to hire new general manager

Rush Park in Rossmoor

The following information was released by Rossmoor Community Services District.

The Rossmoor Community Services District is in the process of reorganizing its management of the District. As part of its succession planning, a decision was reached by the Board at a previous meeting to make a transition from HTGroup, an independent contractor, to an employee General Manager.

Part of the reasoning was that state law now prohibits the use of an independent contractor in a position which should be filled by an employee. Further, Consulting General Manager Henry Taboada had reduced his hours to a four-day work week and had indicated a desire to work fewer hours if possible. The Board therefore has elected to hire a part-time (20 hours per week) employee General Manager and to utilize HTGroup (Taboada) as an external affairs consultant. This will enable a smooth transition for the new General Manager and maintain the experience of HTGroup for a while longer.

At an appropriate time, as determined by the Board, the General Manager will become full time and HTGroup will be available, as needed. A Job Announcement will be made public today and the recruitment process will commence. The most qualified applicants will be interviewed by the Board and a selection will be announced at a future meeting of the Board.
