The following information was released by the Los Alamitos – Seal Beach Rotary Club.

Chris Macias, who graduated from Los Alamitos High School earlier this month, was named the June Student of the Month by the Los Alamitos-Seal Beach Rotary Club.

Macias had been heavily involved in the Griffin News, a class which produced a weekly broadcast for the LAHS campus.

In addition, he was an integral part of news photography on campus, covering many events, on and off-campus, and even being hired by parents to film their student athletes.

According to Griffin News teacher Anthony Cobbs, Chris “really took advantage of what video production has to offer and I see him going on to do great things in the future.”

Macias plans to attend Goldenwest or Cypress College and eventually transfer to a film program.

At a recent meeting, the Rotary Club presented Macias with a certificate and a $100 check to help with his future plans.
