Our daughter was out early this morning walking her new dog prior to leaving for work.
On her return, she reported seeing a coyote trotting nonchalantly southbound on the sidewalk in the 9300 block of Ethel St.
She and her black Labrador were walking northbound on the far side of Ethel.
Parents of small children and owners of small pets should take note: do not leave your children outside unsupervised nor your pets outside to become food for roving coyotes.
The block walls common to residential tracts in Southern California do not present a barrier to coyotes. They can easily get over six-foot cement block walls to attack a small child or snatch a cat, dog or bunny.
