Los Alamitos, Laurel Park

The following information was released by the City of Los Alamitos.

Join the Los Alamitos Recreation & Community Services Department for our first Music & Movies event of the summer!

On July 14, go back to the fifties with Marty McFly as we watch the classic Back to the Future at Laurel Park (corner of Katella Ave. and Bloomfield Ave.). It all starts in 1985 when Doc Brown invents time travel and sends Marty back to 1955. Stuck in the past, a series of events lead him to accidentally prevent his parents from meeting, putting his own existence at stake. Rated PG, this movie runs 116 minutes. Bring lawn chairs, blankets, and join the community for a night under the stars.

Live music will run from 6:30 to 7:45 with the movie to follow, beginning at dusk.

Our first Music & Movies event will also feature three exciting up and coming talents! Local hip/pop band MoZaiK is comprised of four Los Alamitos teenagers who combine their harmonic voices with hip hop sounds and choreography. Also featured will be 13-year-old singer/songwriter Madison Logan. who will take to the stage with her guitar. Finally, 16-year-old Brooklyn Haley has been performing in front of crowds since she was just five years old — now she is here to share her musical talent with the Los Alamitos community.

In addition to the free music and movies, each event will include free activities, raffles, and snacks for sale.

Our next Music & Movies will be on July 28 at the JFTB Pool, featuring “Aloha Radio” and Disney’s The Princess and the Frog. For additional information, please visit www.cityoflosalamitos.org or contact the Los Alamitos Recreation & Community Services Department at 562-430-1073.
