ANIMAL INFORMATION – 9:43 p.m. – Rossmoor/Weatherby – A coyote was seen running in the area. Message delivered to Station 18.
ANIMAL NOISE – 11:40 p.m. – 4200 block of Farquhar Ave. - The exact address in unknown, and it is unknown if the residents are home. The caller was also advised to follow up with Long Beach Animal Control officers. The responding unit requests Animal Control to respond to the address and also reports the smell of a foul odor. Unit will make entry into the residence from the backyard. The owner is at the location. Counseled regarding barking dogs.

PETTY THEFT REPORT – 3:38 p.m. – 3700 block of Green Ave. - Jewelry taken. The incident occurred today at an unknown time. The suspect has a key. The loss is valued at $200. The suspect is the ex-boyfriend. No report desired on the petty theft. The reporting party was referred to get a restraining order. Extra patrol checks were requested due to concerns that the subject enters the garage and home when the reporting party is not at the location.
BATTERY – 4:16 p.m. – 11000 block of Bloomfield St. – The caller’s neighbor was assaulted by her son. Paramedics requested. Injuries include a possible broken jaw. The suspect is 14 years old. Report taken.

PETTY THEFT – 5:18 p.m. – 4400 block of Farquhar Ave. – The suspect, possibly a junk collector, took the caller’s barbecue that was in front of her residence. The loss is a charbroil barbecue with a propane tank. The victim had it placed at the curb with a For Sale Sign for $25. Report taken.
DISTURBANCE (Family) – 9:08 p.m. – 11000 block of Snark St. – The subject is banging down the caller’s door, possibly drunk. The caller is still in the garage and sounds drunk also. It was determined to be a disturbance between father and son. Both parties contacted. Advised.

SHOTS HEARD – 9:06 p.m. – 11000 block of Kelly Ln. – The caller heard 2 gunshots coming from next door. The caller also heard some banging around. The male resident is in the military. The caller did not see anything suspicious, can just hear a ‘commotion’, described as gates banging. The commotion/banging noise was found to be being caused by a large dog trying to jump over the fence/gate. Checks okay.
DRUNK – 10:21 p.m. – 10000 block of Los Alamitos Blvd. - An extremely drunk female is going in and out of the street. Her boyfriend is also at the location. Taxi requested. Verbal disturbance between a drunk couple. They requested a cab and returned home. Party advised and will comply.

WELFARE CHECK – 1:32 a.m. – 10000 block of Oak St. - An elderly female subject advises subjects tore her bathroom up in the residence. The caller sounds like she has possible Alzheimer’s. The resident appears to have dementia and believes she sees people and animals inside her residence. Residence checks okay and voicemails left for family members. Crime unfounded. Counseled.
MALICIOUS MISCHIEF TO A VEHICLE – 10:23 p.m. – 3700 block of Katella Ave. - The left passenger side door of the caller’s vehicle was keyed yesterday. The caller believes the scratch on her driver’s side rear door may have been caused by her husband’s family. No report desired. Log item issued for insurance purposes.

MUNICIPAL CODE VIOLATION – 6:53 a.m. – 5600 block of Orangewood - Per the caller, there is an ongoing problem when the lawn is mowed every day. Per the caller, the subject who drives the lawn mower sings very loud in Spanish and can be heard over the motor. Per the caller, it wakes her up every day. Officers went out on the same concern the day before with the same reporting party. The parties were advised and agreed to comply. Spoke with both the caller and the head of maintenance, who was on the green at 7 a.m. and there was no mowing prior to that. Will research more and try to resolve with the caller. Counseled.
ATTEMPTED SUICIDE – 7:13 p.m. – 11000 block of Pine St. – The caller is despondent in his vehicle in the garage. The caller has a knife in his pocket and is upset because his wife is leaving him. Paramedics staging. He is advising that he does know how he wants to do it, maybe use the knife. The caller is compliant with Dispatch and is opening the garage. The caller will stay in the vehicle until the police arrive. He is advising that he just wants to talk. The caller’s wife is in the residence. The caller is advising that his phone has a low battery and may die soon. He is very compliant with officers contacting him. Units have contact. The subject is requesting a voluntary mental health evaluation. Subject being transported to the hospital by ambulance, to be treated for a self-inflicted injury to his forehead. A physician will place a mental health hold on him.

TRAFFIC STOP – 7:01 a.m. – Katella/Lexington - The vehicle is an older Dodge Ram, occupied by a single male Hispanic. One at gunpoint. The driver is in custody. The vehicle shows as stolen out of Dallas, Texas, Police Department. Tow truck requested. Incident closed by arrest.
