July 7, 2012

SUSPICIOUS PERSON – 2:48 a.m. – 10000 block of Chestnut St. - A male subject wearing a hoodie was carrying what looked like a gun and seemed like he was looking for someone. Prior to calling, the caller heard a couple popping sounds, possibly an airsoft gun, but the callers states it looked like a real gun. One subject at gunpoint. The subject is cooperative now and advises that it’s an airsoft gun on his ankle. Subject arrested for altering an imitation firearm to make it look more like a firearm.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES – 9:18 p.m. – 10000 block of Portal Dr. - The caller received a phone call from his alarm company regarding a burglary alarm. The caller requested police not respond and that he would check. The caller is at the location and it appears the door has been tampered with. Nothing else suspicious seen, and the caller has not checked inside. Checks okay, no entry was made.

July 8, 2012

DISTURBANCE (Fight) – 4:51 p.m. – 3500 block of Howard Ave. – The caller is trying to leave and her ex-husband is creating a disturbance with the caller’s male friend. The caller left prior to officer response and is filing for divorce. The male subject was upset about the caller leaving him for another guy. The caller moved out and was counseled.
DISTURBANCE (Party) – 8:55 p.m. – 11000 block of Mindora St. - A business on Winners Circle was given a conditional license to conduct business but they are having ongoing problems with parties at the location. Party advised and will comply.

July 9, 2012

COUNSELING – 4:47 p.m. – 10000 block of Oak St. – Regarding a disturbance between the caller and the apartment manager on July 6. There was a verbal argument over civil issues with the property manager. Counseled regarding civil court. Moving into a new apartment complex. Additionally, the property manager is also uncooperative with tenants. Counseled.
DISTURBANCE (Family) – 7:11 p.m. – 4000 block of Faruqhar Ave. - Caller versus her boyfriend. The caller advises that the male half grabbed hold of her and threw her out of the bathroom. The subject is drunk and on prescription medication. When the officer arrived the caller asked the officer to leave and refused to talk. She stated the male left and did not desire a report.

July 10, 2012

COUNSELING – 5:01 p.m. – 5000 block of Katella Ave. - Regarding threatening emails that the caller is receiving. The emails are threatening to kill him. The threat was made by mass email, possibly from a foreign country. The caller was advised to contact the security department. The caller resides in Lakewood and was given Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department telephone number. Counseled.
TERRORIST THREATS REPORT – 7:07 p.m. – 11000 block of Langley Dr. - The caller received a threatening phone call from a dog trainer that the caller had contacted for information and decided not to use. Contacted the subject by telephone and asked him about the telephone conversation with the caller. He denied any and then disconnected the line. An email was sent to the subject to cease contact with the caller. Counseled.

July 11, 2012

WELFARE CHECK – 11:06 a.m. – Green Ave. - The caller is with an insurance company that handles psych issues and chemical dependency. The subject called the reporting party for psych referrals for a new doctor. The subject was uncooperative with the caller and started shaking bottles in the background. He threatened to take several different types of pills and drink alcohol. The subject said “he would blow anyone’s brains out that came to his residence”. The subject advised that he lives alone and told the caller that he was at the residence alone. Per the caller, the subject was very uncooperative and irate. Unit calling the subject by phone. Male on the line is uncooperative and refusing to speak with an officer. Unit contacted the subject – negative on mental health issue but he is having a bad day and a stream of bad luck. Checks okay.
PROWLER – 11:10 p.m. – 11000 block of Midway Dr. - The caller is home alone and states it sounds like someone came through the front window, which the caller left open. The caller has locked herself in her bedroom. Unit reports all the windows are intact and that a bulletin board had fallen off the wall in the front bedroom and caused the noise. Checks okay.

July 12, 2012

HARASSING PHONE MESSAGES – 9:27 p.m. – 11000 block of Paseo Bonita - A male subject leaving messages in Spanish on the answering machine, swearing and looking for his wife. THe subject left 15 messages between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. The caller was advised to contact his service provider. Counseled.
COUNSELING – 10:29 a.m. – 10000 block of Oak St. - The reporting party sent money to whom she thought was a family member in need via Western Union. Total loss was $5310. Counseled.
