Mariellen Yarc Jumps in the Race for a 2012 Cypress City Council Spot
Local community leader, Mariellen Yarc, formally requested official papers to begin the process of entering the race for one of two open seats on the Cypress City Council.
Mariellen is a 22 year resident of Cypress and longtime community volunteer. She has served on the Recreation and Parks Commission, Senior Commission, the Woman’s Club of Cypress and is currently the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Cypress Chamber of Commerce. Mariellen attended UCLA and Southwestern University of Law, where she received her Juris Doctor. She is a family law attorney at Brandon & Yarc in Long Beach.
“I intend to put my formula for success to work as a team member on the Cypress City Council in the next four years,” said Mariellen Yarc, about her bid for an open spot. Mariellen has already established a team of volunteers for her council run. She also has a website at www.yarcforcitycouncil.com where she delineates her many qualifications.
Citizens will be able to meet Mariellen at her booth at the Cypress Community Festival Saturday, July 28. “I look forward to getting out and talking with the citizens of Cypress, to hear what their concerns are, as well as sharing my ideas for making Cypress even better.”
Mariellen Yarc intends to file her papers with the Cypress City Clerk before the deadline and welcomes support and feedback from the community as she launches her campaign.
Campaign kick-off reception
Mariellen Yarc’s campaign will hold a kick-reception on Sunday, July 29, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Sittman Residence, 4529 Chantry Court in Cypress. RSVP to 714-827-2054.
