Nighttime closures Monday, August 6 to Thursday, August 9

The following information was released by Orange County Transportation Authority.

In an effort to improve the timeliness and accuracy of our alerts, we will be sending out bi-weekly emails with the latest information on nighttime closures, construction progress and other important project updates.

Below you will find a list of the nighttime closures planned Monday, Aug. 6 through Thursday, Aug. 9.

REMINDER: The SB I-605 connector to the SB I-405 freeway will remain closed through mid-August. For more information on this closure reference the map below or click here.

SB I-405 Freeway between Seal Beach Blvd. and Bolsa Chica Rd. (Closed nightly, between midnight and 5 a.m.)
DETOUR: From the SB I-405 exit Seal Beach Blvd. and turn left, proceed south and turn left on Westminster Ave., continue east to access the SB I-405 on-ramp or turn left on Bolsa Chica Rd, then left on Garden Grove Blvd. to access the EB SR-22 on-ramp

SB I-405 to EB SR-22 Connector (Closed nightly, between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.)
DETOUR: From the SB I-405 exit Studebaker Rd. (stay in the right lane) and proceed south, turn left on Westminster Ave. and continue east to access the SB I-405 on-ramp or turn left on Bolsa Chica Rd., then left on Garden Grove Blvd. to access the EB SR-22 on-ramp

SB I-405 Bolsa Chica Rd. On-Ramp (Closed Monday Night Only, from 10 p.m., Monday, Aug. 6 until 5 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 7)
DETOUR: From Bolsa Chica Rd. turn left on Westminster Ave. and proceed east to access the SB I-405 on-ramp

EB SR-22 Studebaker Rd. On-Ramp (Closed nightly, between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.)
DETOUR: From eastbound 7th Street take the Studebaker Rd. exit and turn left, proceed south and turn left on Westminster Ave., continue east on Westminster Ave. to access the SB I-405 on-ramp or turn left on Bolsa Chica Rd., then turn left on Garden Grove Blvd. to access the EB SR-22 on-ramp

NB I-405 Freeway between Seal Beach Blvd. and the I-605 (Closed ONLY Wednesday night, Aug. 8 and Thursday night, Aug. 9, from midnight to 5 a.m.)
DETOUR: From the NB I-405 exit Seal Beach Blvd. and turn right, continue north on Seal Beach Blvd. / Los Alamitos Blvd., turn left on Katella Ave. to access the NB I-605 on-ramp or continue west on Katella Ave. then turn left on Palo Verde Ave. to access the NB I-405 on-ramp

EAST SEGMENT NEWS — Valley View Street to Seal Beach Boulevard

Daytime pile driving activities will continue this week as part of the reconstruction of the southbound I-405 / eastbound SR-22 connector. Pile driving will take place between 6:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays and will continue intermittently through mid-August, weather permitting. Please be advised this work may be loud and disruptive due to vibration and pounding.

Roadway excavation in the center of the I-405 freeway (between Valley View Street and Seal Beach Boulevard) are ongoing and will continue for approximately the next two to three weeks. This work is necessary as part of the construction activity for the SR-22 / I-405 carpool connector. Please be advised this work may be loud and disruptive due to equipment noise, back-up alarms and minor demolition.

WEST SEGMENT — Seal Beach Boulevard to I-605

The two-week closure of the southbound I-605 / southbound I-405 connector is underway. This closure is necessary as crews work to realign the connector to accommodate construction of the new 405 / 605 HOV connector. The southbound I-605 / southbound I-405 connector will reopen in mid-August although an exact date is not yet available.
