The following information was released by Southeast Civic Light Opera and the Theater Guild.
Allyson Hathcock has scored again with this zany version of the classic Alice in Wonderland. Hathcock, who is known for her fractured fairy tales and very musical children shows at the Liberty Theater, has come up with a 60’s-70’s rock version played by adults.
“Our adult actors have been asking me to write a children’s story primarily for them,” commented Hathcock. “So, what could be more fun than Alice In Boogieland set in the psychedelic era? Our adult actors are having a blast!”
The cast is made up of actors from the local surrounding communities and will be aided by the Liberty Band directed by Geoffrey Munger as they perform memorable songs from the 60’s & 70’s that have been arranged for this musical.
Alice In Boogieland opens Friday, August 17 and runs through Sunday, August 26. Performances are Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 PM and Saturday and Sundays at 2:00 PM. Ticket prices are $13 for Senior and Children and $15 for adults. Seniors receive a $3 discount at the matinee’s. Group rates are available.
