Dean Grose

The following information was released by Friends of Dean Grose.

Filing for election to the Los Alamitos City Council, the Friends of Dean Grose committee today announced several significant early endorsements. Current Assemblyman James Silva and State Senator Tom Harman have both agreed to support him in his November race for a seat on the City Council. In addition, the Leadership Alliance of Orange County and the Rabbi Nachum Shifren, a former U.S. Senatorial candidate, have also joined in endorsing Grose.

A resident of Los Alamitos for the past 26 years and very active in many community organizations and events, he was first elected to the City Council in 2006. In his successful bid, he garnered 1,747 votes – highest in that contest. In June 2010, he ran for the 67th Assembly District Central Committee for the Orange County GOP and won a place among the six committee representatives with more than 15,500 votes. The District was realigned and his current seat will expire in December of this year.

“I have a passion for Los Alamitos and want to continue projects and work that I was involved with,” he noted. Grose resigned from his post in March 2009. “I am proud that I put forth the national motto ‘In God We Trust’ and received the support from my colleagues and it is now proudly displayed in our Council Chamber.” In addition, he was involved with the Orange County League of Cities and the Southern California Association of Governments and I hope to regain that representation for our City, he added. “We are under very tough economic conditions and I have a vision that will add jobs for our small city as well as additional property and sales taxes.”

Grose will be one of four candidates in the November, in third position on the ballot.
