Spirits were bright and the facility shining at this year’s “A Precious Christmas” open house at Precious Life Shelter, a privately funded three-phase residential supportive services program for homeless, pregnant, adult women.

Precious Life Shelter is located at 10881 Reagan St. in Los Alamitos. Its affiliated thrift and gift shop, around the corner at 3622 Florista St., just held a fabulously successful “dollar days” sale in support of the shelter. This is the shelter’s twentieth year, and the shop has been holding special sales on the 20th day of each month in honor of the anniversary.

Visitors were able to tour the facility’s buildings, purchase items or enter a raffle, and munch on snacks.

No one seemed the least concerned about the on-again off-again rain, which was mostly gone by 4 p.m.

Girl Scout Troop 277 sang Christmas carols for visitors to Precious Life Shelter’s open house. Santa and Mrs. Claus were on hand as well.
