The following information was released by the Los Alamitos Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals.
The Los Alamitos Chamber Of Commerce Young Professionals, in conjunction with the City of Los Alamitos and Los Alamitos Area Chamber of Commerce have held the City’s first tree lighting ceremony at “Winter Wonderland at the Plaza.” Over 1,200 residents found St. Isidore Historical Plaza and Reagan St. transformed into a holiday-themed wonderland with 25 tons of snow, a trackless train, arts & crafts, and many more activities throughout the four-hour event.
The light showers scattered throughout the evening failed to deter an enthusiastic and cheerful crowd that came to enjoy the free festivities made possible by many local businesses and organizations, including;

Winter Wonderland at the Plaza displayed the talent of local students with choir performances by the City Of Los Alamitos “Ready, Set, Go!” Preschool Program, McGaugh Elementary School, Oak Middle School and McAuliffe Middle School. Santa & Mrs. Claus made a special appearance, arriving in grand style courtesy of Orange County Fire Authority Station #2 in Los Alamitos.
The festivities concluded with the official tree lighting by Mayor Troy Edgar, Los Alamitos Unified School Board President Meg Cutuli and Josh Wilson representing the Chamber Young Professionals. The Los Alamitos Holiday Tree will remain lit from dusk to midnight on the corner of Katella Avenue and Florista Street until Christmas.
LACOCYP is a newly formed group of young men and women – and those young at heart – in the Greater Los Alamitos Area and is associated with the Los Alamitos Area Chamber of Commerce.
The Young Professionals seeks to improve the Los Alamitos community by connecting residents with local businesses and their government, providing a forum for young professionals to improve their business skills and giving back to the community through philanthropic events.
