Fun art classes for adults with Los Al Rec

The following information was released by Los Alamitos Recreation and Community Services.

The City of Los Alamitos welcomes the return of instructor Claudia Hindu and her unique and fun art classes. Registration is going on now; limited spaces available. Classes will be held on Tuesdays at Fire Station 48 – Community Room, 3131 N. Gate Road, Seal Beach.

Art for Adults – Beginning (For ages 18+)

Students will be taught drawing fundamentals, including contour drawing, perspective, shading, proportion and still life rendering. Mixed media will be used. No prerequisite required. Classes run from 8-9:30am Mar. 12-Apr. 30 and May 7-Jun. 18.

Art for Adults – Intermediate (For ages 18+)

Students will be taught more basic techniques such as principles of linear perspective drawing as well as more advanced techniques such as three point perspectives. Mixed media will be used. Prerequisite: Art for Adults – Beginning class. Classes run from 9:30-10:30am from Mar. 12-Apr. 30 and May 7-Jun. 18.

Fashion Sketching (For ages 9+)

Students will develop their own style of fashion illustration with pencil, markers, and water colors. Students will learn to draw women, men, and children’s fashion models used as a basis for drawing the idealized proportions. Students will also learn how to draw flats. No prerequisite required. Classes will run from 4-5pm, Mar. 12-Apr. 30 and May 7-Jun. 18.
