We Care From the Heart fundraiser set for Saturday, March 23

We Care Family Support Center of Los Alamitos will be hosting its 7th Annual “From the Heart Celebration” on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 6 pm at Aegean Designing Whims, 3782 E. Cerritos Avenue, Los Alamitos. This casual event features fabulous food, superb spirits, magnificent music, and awesome live and silent auctions for a cost of $65 per person.

The main goal of We Care’s Homeless Prevention and Food Pantry Program is to move families in temporary crisis to self-sufficiency. The case manager helps clients develop a financial plan, learn skills to increase and manage their income, and achieve stable housing. We Care services include case management, food pantry, and rental, mortgage, or utility assistance.

We Care has helped the needy in the North Orange County area for 22 years. In 2012, 2475 individuals and over 600 families received assistance. Of those clients who received assistance for housing, 91% of families/individuals remained stably housed for the duration of the program, 88% of families achieved self-sufficiency upon completion of the program, 70% of families maintained self-sufficiency for at least 1 year after completion of the program, and 100% of families served were linked to community resources and mainstream benefits, helping them to develop a plan to prevent future housing instability.
