The following information was released by Chronic Tacos.
Takeru Kobayashi, a Guinness Book of World Records victor for eating the most hot dogs, meatballs, tacos, Twinkies, hamburgers and pasta in the shortest timeframe, will be attending the US Open of Surfing to take on the Gringo Bandito Chronic Tacos challenge to beat his previous taco record.
Chronic Tacos – a fun, laidback, fast casual restaurant that delivers the true Mexican flavor of authentic third generation family recipes – is pairing up with The Offspring lead singer Dexter Holland, the owner of Gringo Bandito’s signature sauce, to hold the third annual taco-eating contest at the VANS US Open of Surfing.
Several competitive eaters will be battling for the ultimate title of taco king.
In 2012, Kobayashi broke a world record by eating 106 tacos in 10 minutes.
This year, Furious Pete is ready to show no mercy.
The competition will take place the VANS US Open of Surfing on the Main Stage, located at the intersection of Main Street and Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach at Sunday, July 21, 2013 at 3 p.m.
