February 20, 2015
Counseling – 10:27 a.m. – 4200 block of Farquhar Ave. – The reporting party came in to get advice regarding his live-in girlfriend/mother of his 4-year-old daughter. Earlier that day they had a verbal argument, and the girlfriend slammed the bathroom door in his face. He was concerned that she was going to fabricate something that didn’t happen and accuse him of abuse. He was concerned that he would be arrested gain for something he “didn’t do.” The reporting party said that his girlfriend threatened to move out of state with their daughter. He had no child custody paperwork. He was advised to go to Family Court for the paperwork and to move out and get his own place so he was not in a situation to have her fabricate something.
Health and Safety Violation – 5:16 p.m. – 4400 block of Howard Ave. – The caller reported 18-22 teams loitering in the park and smoking marijuana. A second caller on Green stated that juveniles kept jumping the locked gate into her property. The subjects were gone on the arrival of police.

Fraud Report – 8:13 a.m. – 4000 block of Faruqhar Ave. – The reporting party requested counseling regarding a money scam with a subject met online. The reporting party met a subject on a website 2-3 weeks prior. They began emailing and text messaging each other and the subject told the reporting party that he loved her and wanted to send her some money. He mailed her a check for $2,820 and told her to donate $1,000 two times to the Ronald McDonald House Charity, which she did online. The reporting party found out the check he sent her was no good from her credit union, but she had already gone to Western Union and done the wire transfer. Her bank charged her $30 for the bounced check. She tried to contact the subject, but she had been unsuccessful. Her total loss was almost $3,000. The reporting party did not want a report at this time and was mostly concerned that she didn’t do anything criminal.
Illegally Parked Vehicle – 3:44 p.m. – Howard/Lexington – A black SUV with Utah plates was parked blocking the fire hydrant. Police found that the vehicle was completely blocking the hydrant. Citation issued.

Vandalism Report – 12:55 p.m. – 4200 block of Howard Ave. – A subject tampered with the lock on the caller’s residence, possibly using Super Glue. The caller thought a neighbor was involved but it was unknown for sure. Report taken.
Citizen Assist – 10:51 p.m. – 10700 block of Reagan St. – The caller requested assistance with getting her dog out of the shrubbery. The dog was large, and the caller was unable to do it alone. Assisted.

Burglary – 2:56 a.m. – 2900 block of Claremore Ln. – The caller woke up to someone attempting to open the sliding glass door. The screen door was open. The caller did not see anyone, but there were fresh foot prints in the rear. Police found a skateboard and duffel bag to the rear of the caller’s residence in the flood control channel. A male subject was detained and arrested for prowling.
Police Information – 5:18 a.m. – 605 Fwy/Katella – A vehicle skidded off the off-ramp from the 605 Fwy. to Katella Ave. Police determined that the vehicle was almost completely off the ramp. The Highway Patrol was notified. The vehicle was drivable once it was pulled out of the iceplant. A tow truck was requested.

Fire – 10:39 a.m. – 3500 block of Cerritos Ave. – A trash can fire was extinguished in the bathroom. The fire alarm was sounding. OCFA was notified. Report taken. OCFA cleared the scene, and the children returned to class.
Follow-up Report – 1:25 p.m. – 10700 block of Bloomfield St. – The reporting party wanted to press charges against another employee who took money from the business. The suspect was counseled and terminated. The reporting party handled the situation internally.

Incident Report – 7:19 a.m. – 3700 block of Green Ave. – A tree branch fell on the caller’s vehicle. The caller was concerned that there was another branch that was getting ready to fall. A vehicle needed to be moved so that Public Works could cut the tree down. Police contacted the owner of the vehicle, who would move it. Report taken.
Medical Aid – 8:13 p.m. – 12000 block of Paseo Bonita – The caller’s neighbor fell in front of the residence and was bleeding. OCFA was en route. The subject was treated at the scene and transported. Police were told that the subject slipped on the parkway grass while taking out the trash and possibly struck his face/head on the curb. The subject was alert and able to answer questions. Assisted.

Counseling – 2:59 p.m. – 5200 block of Katella Ave. – The caller requested counseling regarding a transient who was sleeping inside the location that morning. The caller said that when she came in that morning, he was asleep on the floor just inside the door. She told him to leave and he was cooperative. Counseled.
Disturbance (Family) – 10:47 p.m. – 4000 block of Farquhar Ave. – The caller was having an argument with his girlfriend. The girlfriend was refusing to give the caller his keys. Matter solved. The keys were returned to the owner. Subjects counseled.
