Los Alamitos Unified School District is pleased to announce that Mrs. Erin Kominsky has been selected as the new Principal for Oak Middle School.
Mrs. Kominsky has worked in the Los Alamitos Unified School District for the past nineteen years as the principal of Weaver Elementary School. Under Mrs. Kominsky’s leadership, Weaver was named a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, a four time California Distinguished School, and the recipient of a Golden Bell Award for Cognitively Guided Instruction. In addition, Weaver ranked among the top performing schools in the County and State. “We are ecstatic to have Erin’s expertise and passion in our District and look forward to supporting her new venture as an Oak Lion!” stated Superintendent Kropp, “As a National Distinguished Principal (named in 2012), she is truly ideal for this new position.”
Prior to coming to the Los Alamitos Unified School District, Mrs. Kominsky was an elementary principal for the Rowland Unified School District. Mrs. Kominsky received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz and her Master’s degree from California State University, Long Beach.
When asked about being named Oak’s next principal, she shared, “It is an honor to continue to serve the students in the Los Alamitos Unified School District. I am looking forward to being part of the pride at Oak! Go Lions”!
Mrs. Kominsky lives in Fountain Valley with her husband and son.
