Empowering adults with disabilities! That’s the theme of the annual Transition Night Event hosted by the Disability Support Services (DSS) of the North Orange County Community College District’s (NOCCCD) School of Continuing Education (SCE) at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Cypress College (9200 Valley View Street, Cypress, California 90630 – CCCPLEX, 3rd and 4th floor).
Members of the community are invited to attend this free event to learn more about opportunities for adults with disabilities including independent options for living, working, and attending educational programs. DSS staff and faculty will be available to share information about current SCE course offerings and programs, including independent living skills, job skills training, college to career, and mobility/transportation training programs.
Vendors from over 50 community agencies will also share information including those with independent living and housing programs, social security programs, transportation agencies, Special Olympics and recreation programs, and education programs. Last year the successful event welcomed over 400 attendees including students, parents, caregivers, and case managers. Reviews from last year’s attendees were overwhelmingly positive regarding presenters, vendor information, and overall benefit of the event.
For more information, or if special accommodations are needed to participate in the event, please contact SCE’s DSS office at 714.484.7057.
