The Orange County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred Sunday night in Huntington Beach.
At about 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, Huntington Beach police contacted a male and female sitting in a black Chevrolet Camaro in the area of Beacon Hill and Lawn Haven. During the contact, an officer-involved shooting occurred.
The male suspect, who investigators are attempting to identify, was shot by Huntington Beach Police. He was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The female suspect seated in the passenger seat was not injured. She was identified as Kristan Leann Porter-Swartz, 26, of Antelope. Porter-Swartz was arrested and booked into the Orange County Jail for outstanding warrants for theft and drugs charges.
One of the officers involved in the incident sustained an injury, was treated at the hospital and released.
The reason for the contact between Huntington Beach police and the occupants of the Camaro is currently being investigated. Per protocol, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department homicide team responded to investigate.
