On Wednesday, April 19th at 6:30 p.m., as part of the month long Buena Park Reads event, Cal State Fullerton Professor Toby Rider will present a talk on the politics of the ’36 Games, the global reaction to them, and why they remain relevant today. Buena Park Reads is a month long event in which the city has been reading The Boys in the Boat by Daniel James Brown. The Boys in the Boat tells the story of the University of Washington’s rowing crew and their epic quest for Olympic gold during the 1936 Olympics.
