May 8, 2017
Traffic Stop – 10:00 a.m. – Valley View/Lincoln – The vehicle refused to yield initially. It eventually struck something in the 6000 block of Crescent and yielded at Crescent/San Carlos. An additional unit was requested to assist with checking in the area for something the subject threw out of the window. Eastbound traffic was requested to be stopped at Valley View and Crescent, and westbound traffic was shut down at San Rio. A police unit recovered drugs from the 6000 block of Crescent. Police attempted to contact the registered owner of the vehicle, which was towed from the scene. The registered owner advised that she sold the vehicle in November and been attempting to sort out issues with the DMV. The vehicle was impounded, and the driver arrested for possession of drugs for sale.
Keep the Peace – 3:27 p.m. – 4200 block of Sussex Cir. – The caller’s phone was reportedly stolen from the bathroom at a school, and the GPS was showing its current location at the residence given. The caller had already knocked at the door and no one was answering. Police determined determined that the phone was left in the locker room and assisted with knocking on multiple doors, as GPS is not 100% accurate. The reporting party was advised to contact the principal for further assistance with juveniles living in the area. A log number was given for documentation.

Vehicle Burglary – 2:09 p.m. – 4900 block of Katella Ave. – The reporting party reported the loss of items from the possibly unlocked trunk of a vehicle. Taken was an iPad ($300), Surface Pro ($300) and a USB stick ($260). The values were given by the reporting party. No report desired.
B&P Violation – 6:06 p.m. – 5700 block of Orange Ave. – Four subjects were reportedly drinking hard liquor, and one subject was passed out. There were two large bottles, one with brown liquid and one with clear liquid. Paramedics were requested for extreme intoxication. One subject arrested.

Disturbance (Subject) – 10:31 a.m. – 9200 block of Valley View St. – A female subject was reportedly being combative and refusing to leave. Security was trying to escort her off the property. The female was advised regarding trespassing by Security and was gone by the arrival of police.
Counseling – 12:36 p.m. – 4300 block of Orange Ave. – A school requested assistance in speaking with a parent whose child had been truant for the last few months. Counseled.

Traffic Hazard – 7:47 a.m. – 5100 block of Orange Ave. – A school rep was reportedly standing in the middle of Orange Ave., attempting to direct traffic in and out of the school. Party advised and will comply.
Grand Theft Report – 2:45 p.m. – 10700 block of Walker St. – The caller reported that they were out $1,140 for music equipment shipped that was never paid for and was a fraudulent order, according to the reporting party. Fraud report taken.

Municipal Code Violation – 5:00 a.m. – 6500 block of Biak – A large motorhome had reportedly been at the location for the past ten months. Citation issued.
Illegally Parked Vehicle – 10:46 a.m. – 5000 block of Alaska Ave. – A vehicle was reportedly blocking the caller’s driveway. Citation issued.

Transient – 10:34 a.m. – Orange/Moody – A transient was reportedly taking Open House signs and throwing them into the street, almost hitting the caller’s vehicle. Police contacted the subject and requested a cab.
Illegal Peddler – 11:43 a.m. – 4000 block of Cheshire Dr. – Subjects were reportedly selling grass seed door-to-door in a vehicle. The subjects checked okay and were counseled on City permits.
