Robbery – 5:31 a.m. – Centerpointe Dr. – A male subject in a black mask reportedly pulled a black handgun. The loss was $115.
Petty Theft Report – 12:51 p.m. – 5300 block of Pembury Dr. – The caller reported the theft of a package from the front door. The loss was shoes valued at $120. Report taken.
September 30, 2017
Suspicious Occupied Vehicle – 12:06 p.m. – 8400 block of Moody St. – A male subject was reportedly asleep in a vehicle with the engine running. The subject left prior to the arrival of police.
Assist Other Department – 5:48 p.m. – 4500 block of Montecito Dr. – A transformer was reportedly smoking at the location. OCFA and Southern California Edison responded. The transformer was turned off. Several units were without power.
October 1, 2017
Police Information – 8:54 a.m. – 5400 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – The caller reported that he used the ATM at the location and was now a victim of identity theft. An unknown person reportedly used his PIN by unknown means to withdraw money. No report desired. The caller requested an officer check the machine for a possible skimming device. The ATM checked okay and the clerk reported no other complaints had been made.
Suspicious Subject – 5300 block of Achilles Cir. – The caller stated that she spoke to a male subject who stated that he was from the Gas Co., but the caller was not expecting anyone. Unable to locate.
October 2, 2017
Medical Aid – 8:50 a.m. – 5300 block of La Palma Ave. – A subject was reportedly breathing but non-responsive. Paramedics responded and the subject was transported for a possible heart attack.
Incident Report – 7:39 p.m. – 7792 Walker St. (La Palma Police Department) – The reporting party stated that she fell for a phone scam in which she paid for approximately $5000 in Target gift cards, then provided them to the caller. The IRS confirmed it was a scam. Incident report taken.

Suspicious Subject – 5:19 a.m. – Centerpointe Dr. – A male subject reportedly jumped over the counter at the location. It was determined that the subject was an employee at the location and there was no crime.
Trespassing – 1:25 p.m. – Santa Margarita/Delong (Cypress) – A shirtless subject was reportedly standing on the corner. The subject checked okay and it was suggested that the subject stay away from mother’s residence.
October 4, 2017
Disturbance (Music) – 6:27 a.m. – 7821 Walker St. (Central Park) – A male subject inside the gazebo was reportedly playing a loud instrument. The caller stated that this occurred every morning. Police contacted a male subject playing a traditional Chinese violin made out of bamboo. The subject was advised via Google Translate to stop playing until after 8:00 a.m.
Medical Aid – 2:22 p.m. – 5000 block of Sausalito Cir. – Medical response was requested for a 42-year-old male subject who was cold to the touch and had no pulse. The subject was confirmed deceased and the coroner handled removal of the body. Report taken.
October 5, 2017
Suspicious Subject – 9:48 a.m. – 7300 block of Bourbon Ln. – A white van reportedly dropped a male subject off in front of the caller’s residence. The caller advised that no one should be at the caller’s residence. Police spoke to a neighbor who stated that the subject was putting flyers on doors and that’s what was seen.
Petty Theft Report – 12:48 p.m. – 8200 block of Walker St. – The caller reported three stolen iPhones from the day before. The “Find My iPhone” app puts all three in Cypress. A Cypress Police unit was requested to assist while La Palma Police attempted to make contact. A petty theft report was taken.
