The Los Alamitos High School Sound FX show choir wowed at the Heart of America Orlando 2018 competition on March 24, 2018 – so much so that their exceptional performance won them the title of grand champion of the national event.
Sound FX also won accolades for Best Vocals, Best Choreography, Best Show Design, and Best Female Soloist (Sophia Wackerman).
The competition was held at Hilton Buena Vista Palace near Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
The runners up included Powerhouse from John Burroughs High School in Burbank; Sound System from Center Grove High School in Greenwood, Indiana; F.C. Singers from Franklin Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana; Swingsations from Mt. Zion High School in Mount Zion, Illinois; and The Ambassadors from Prairie High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Earlier this month, Sound FX also placed first at the 2018 Burbank Blast! and Hart Encore competitions.
Los Alamitos High School runs a large, nationally-recognized exceptional choral program with around 600 members.
