Join the Los Alamitos Recreation & Community Services Department for our second of three summer Music & Movies event series on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Orville R. Lewis Park located at 3662 Kempton Dr., Los Alamitos.
Live music will begin at 6:30pm with the movie to follow beginning at dusk. The Music & Movies event will feature the band La Sirena and its eclectic variety of danceable salsa, Latin jazz, bachata, and merengue styles. La Sirena’s unique vocal sound is a balance between sizzling harmonies from three male and female lead vocalists mixed with big brass and traditional Latin percussion.
After the band, the movie for the night is “Coco” (rated PG). Despite his family’s generations-old ban on music, young Miguel dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol Ernesto de la Cruz. Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead. After meeting a charming trickster named Héctor, the two new friends embark on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history.
In addition to the music and movie, the event offers free activities, raffles, food trucks and snack vendors, and special balloon animals and face painting for the whole family. Please bring your lawn chairs, flashlight, and bug repellent and have fun spending the evening listening to a great band and watching a movie under the stars.
