The La Palma-Cerritos Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) invites the public to come to their meeting on Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Cerritos Park East (CPE) to learn all about the eleven propositions that will be voted on in November.
The guest speaker for the evening will be Linda Longwood, a representative from the League of Women Voters. Longwood will be giving an impartial presentation of the pros and cons of the propositions so that voters will be better prepared to make educated decisions about the propositions.
The presentation by the League of Women is sponsored by the La Palma-Cerritos AAUW as a community service for voters in the La Palma, Cerritos and surrounding areas.
Following the presentation by Longwood, there will be a short business meeting chaired by President Harriet Moses. Guests are welcome to remain for the business meeting if they wish to learn more about the branch’s current activities or wish to join the AAUW.
Membership Co-VPs will be on hand to answer questions about joining the AAUW. Persons who want to help advance equity for women and girls are encouraged to join. Those who have a baccalaureate or higher degree from an accredited college or university are eligible to become members.
