Between Friday, October 5 and Sunday, October 7, 2018 there were 12 thefts from vehicles and one stolen vehicle in Seal Beach. All but one of the vehicles were unlocked and occurred in the Hill area of the city. Unfortunately, the
stolen vehicle was unlocked and the keys were left inside.
Furthermore, there were two commercial burglaries in the north end of the city, where the windows of the businesses
at Bowlology and Pure Barre were smashed; however, no loss was reported. Lastly, McGaugh Elementary School was the victim of a commercial burglary, where the loss was reportedly a laptop computer.
The Seal Beach Police Department would like to remind all residents, visitors and businesses to take the following steps to protect your property and prevent yourselves from being a victim:
- Lock your car
- Remove all valuables
- Do not leave any property in view, i.e. cell phones, laptop computers, packages
- Do not leave your keys in your car
- Put large packages in the trunk
- Park in well-lit areas
