Immensely supportive of America’s military, Republican Women Federated members at the Rossmoor-Los Alamitos (RLA) club donated personal hygiene products and snack food items to the Bob Hope USO located at John Wayne Airport. This was their way of giving thanks during the Thanksgiving season to our nation’s outstanding military. Since many military are traveling home and lack the time for holiday shopping, members also included toys the men and women could give to their children. Bob Hope USO Orange County Manager Maureen Ahrens accepted the donations during the club’s Nov. 17 meeting at the Cypress Courtyard Marriott.
Founded in 1941, the non-profit USO, which stands for United Service Organizations, provides a variety of programs to members of the United States Armed Force and their families. Today the USO helps keep America’s military service members connected to family, home and country. The organization also assists members who are transitioning to civilian life or as wounded warriors require therapeutic and reintegration services on their way to recovery.
“Our brave military men and women must always know the American people are there for them,” shared Laurie Fulton, who is RLA’s military liaison chairperson. “The USO does outstanding work and donating all these toys and products is just another way Republican Federated women show how much they value our nation’s military.”
Women and men who want to become involved in a variety of community programs while promoting Republican conservative values with other like-minded women and men can contact [email protected] for information about the club’s exciting 2019 agenda.
