According to the Orange County District Attorney, Michael Carl Hallgren, 64, a resident of Anaheim, was charged on Monday, November 26, with one felony count of murder in the death of Lucinda Palma inside a residence in Anaheim.
The Anaheim Police Department, which investigated the incident, responded to the residence and found the victim deceased at the scene. The Department subsequently arrested Hallgren.
The suspect is scheduled to appear in Department CJ-1 of the Central Jail in Santa Ana on Friday, December 14, at 10 a.m. If convicted, he could face up to a maximum of 51 years to life in state prison. Sentencing enhancements include personal use of a knife and a prior conviction for robbery in Los Angeles in 2001.
Senior Deputy District Attorney Janine Madera of the Homicide Unit is handling the case.
