The Los Alamitos High School Advanced Drama team scored top honors in a recent major regional theater competition.
With its production of “The Entire American Revolution in 20 Minutes or Less,” the team won second place overall, while also winning the Audience Favorite prize at the Montclair/Etiwanda Theatre Festival, also known as METFEST. The competition at Montclair High School involved 15 schools presenting a one-act play for a panel of judges.
In addition, Melanie Tanaka took home a trophy as one of the Top 4 performers in the competition, and actors Danny Bird, Connor Franzen and Louie Gallagher were named Outstanding Performers.
“I am so proud of our kids! They were amazing,” said Stacy Castiglione, chair of the Los Alamitos High performing arts department. “This is the second year that Los Al has participated and the second year that we have received top honors.”
