The Centralia School District Board of Trustees held their annual organizational meeting on December 12, 2018. The meeting saw three Trustees taking their Oath of Office; Trustees Art Montez representing Area 2 and Henry Charoen representing Area 1. Also taking the Oath was Luis “Jerry” Flores, sworn in as the newly elected Trustee for Area 5, replacing outgoing Trustee Connor Traut. The Trustee board now has all 5 Areas fully represented for Centralia School District.
The Governing Board also selected Elizabeth Gonzalez, Area 3, as the President for 2019, Steve Harris, Area 4, as Vice President and Art Montez as Clerk. President Gonzalez replaces outgoing President Henry Charoen. Mr. Charoen reflected on his year as President, expressing his pride in the District’s accomplishments during the last four years, and cited the hard work ahead including maintaining a balanced budget, efficient administration of Measure N, and increased student test scores. Mrs. Gonzalez stated that she is “honored to be Centralia’s 2019 Board of Trustees President and thanked Mr. Charoen for his leadership during his presidency.”
The Centralia Elementary School District typically holds its regular meetings on the second Wednesday of the month at 5:30 p.m., with some exceptions, in the District Office Boardroom located at 6625 La Palma Ave, Buena Park, California.
