At its December 18 meeting, the La Palma City Council recognized City Attorney Joel Kuperberg for his 31 years of service to the City of La Palma. Earlier in the year, Joel announced his plans to retire on December 31, 2018.
City Manager Laurie A. Murraysaid, “I have worked directly with Joel for the last 13 years. I can tell you that he has served this City well and he is going to be missed greatly.” “Joel has been instrumental in innumerable zoning code amendments, land use and development agreements,use and sales tax measures, and over thirty years of legal advice,” Murray added.
Joel was appointed City Attorney on October 20, 1987, and his firm, Rutan & Tucker, has represented the City since its incorporation in 1955.
The City Council appointed Assistant City Attorney, Emily Webb, asLa Palma’s new city attorney effective January 1, 2019.
