Under our editorial guidelines, the news release from Studio Movie Grill (SMG) about their certification (see below) would not get published here because the closest SMG location is in Downey and outside our extended coverage area.
SMG gets a pass because of two local developments that tie in with the Studio Movie Grill concept.
First, the City of Cypress is supporting the development of land along Katella Ave. that is, currently, the southernmost section of the parking lot for Los Alamitos Race Course. One of the City’s most wanted retail features of the development is a destination venue similar to Studio Movie Grill.
Second, Four Star Cinema in west Garden Grove and its adjacent parcels are currently under renovation. After all the dust settles, the result should be a destination venue similar to Studio Movie Grill.
Combining your movie and dinner experiences under a single roof seems to be a trend opposing “Netflix and chill.”
Below is the news release.
