North Orange County Community College District reports three positive COVID-19 test results

As of March 27, 2020, the North Orange County Community College District (NOCCCD) has confirmed three positive COVID-19 test results from members of its community: two students and one faculty member.

Campus Administrators and Health Center Directors are in touch with the ill persons, and have made the announcements to their campuses. All three individuals are in self-quarantine and remain stable. State health officials expect that the number of reported cases will continue to increase before actions such as campus and office closures and social distancing start to help flatten the curve. Because of community transmissions and increased testing, NOCCCD expects to report more confirmed cases in the coming weeks.

In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, and in alignment with government directives, Cypress College, Fullerton College, and North Orange Continuing Education were closed to students and the public beginning on Friday, March 13, 2020. This closure will last at least through April 13, 2020. Most NOCCCD employees began to work from home on Monday, March 16, 2020.

Anyone concerned that they may be experiencing symptoms are recommended to follow the steps of the CDC Coronavirus Self Checker: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/testing.html.
