September 1, 2020

Disturbance (Neighbors) – 7:28 p.m. – 5100 block of Dover Dr. – Neighbors were reportedly yelling over a road rage incident. One party left the area.
Suspicious Circumstances – 10:35 p.m. – Camden/San Simeon – The caller believed that he heard a subject in the area attempting to open several vehicles. Police were unable to locate the subject.

September 2, 2020

Found Property – 7:35 a.m. – 7751 Moody St. (El Rancho Verde Park) – The caller found an iPhone along the Edison right-of-way.
Reckless Driving – 8:48 a.m. – 5500 block of La Palma Ave. – Police contacted a vehicle with recent traffic collision damage to the rear door. One subject was detained in cuffs. Police subsequently arrested a 22-year-old subject was arrested for misdemeanor DUI and reckless driving on the highway. Field sobriety tests were administered in jail.
Threats Report – 6:14 p.m. – 5200 block of Los Encantos Cir. – The reporting party advised that a neighbor had threatened to kill the reporting party. Police arrested a male subject for threatening with intent to terrorize, a probation warrant, and attempting to intimidate a witness or victim.

September 3, 2020

Extra Patrol Checks – 1:48 p.m. – Undisclosed location – The caller requested extra patrol checks as the caller believed that human feces and shopping bags had been left on his property.
Counseling – 1:55 p.m. – 7300 block of Rampart Ln. – The caller stated that his computer was locked up and under cyber attack. The caller was counseled.

September 4, 2020

Counseling – 12:52 p.m. – 8000 block of Joan Cir. – The caller parked a vehicle in front of the neighbor’s trash cans and the neighbor reportedly hit her vehicle. Unknown damage at this time. It was determined that there was no crime. Both parties counseled.
Counseling – 1:29 p.m. – 5000 block of Decatur Dr. – A former caregiver reportedly filed false receipts for items never purchased. The caller had reported the incident to APS and would like to speak to an officer. Report taken.

September 5, 2020

Suspicious Circumstances – 5:18 p.m. – 5300 block of La Palma Ave. – Two subjects were reportedly seen trying to open the hood of a van. The caller made contact with the owners of the van, who stated that no one should be making entry into the van. Positive identifications were made in the field and both subjects were taken into custody. A 39-year-old Los Angeles resident and a 25-year-old Los Angeles resident were arrested for attempted burglary, possession of controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, and conspiracy.
Traffic Stop – 11:31 p.m. – Centralia/Bloomfield (Lakewood) – Police performed a traffic stop on a possible DUI driver and conducted a DUI investigation. A blood tech was requested and a 60-year-old Lakewood resident was arrested for misdemeanor DUI. LASO Lakewood would be attempting to contact a responsible party for the subject.

September 6, 2020

Disturbance (Fight) – 2:07 p.m. – Centerpointe Dr. – A male subject was reportedly hitting a female subject. Police made contact with the female, who advised that the male half left. The business refused service to the female and she left the property. She was advised that the business and the La Palma Police Department were not responsible for any stolen property. No report taken.
Counseling – 8:21 p.m. – 7792 Walker St. (La Palma Police Department) – The reporting party requested counseling regarding a subject threatening her. The reporting party was referred to the Torrance Police Department.

September 7, 2020

Area Check – 3:17 a.m. – 5400 block of Orangethorpe Ave. – The caller requested an area check regarding a loud explosion that sounded like a tire popped. An employee at a business advised that it was possibly fireworks. The area checked okay.
Transient – 9:09 a.m. – 7800 block of Walker St. – A transient was reportedly sleeping by the elevator in the underground parking lot. Party advised and will comply.

September 8, 2020

Transient – 9:15 a.m. – 5400 block of La Palma Ave. – A male subject was reportedly sleeping on the Walker side of the building covered by a blanket with a bike. Party advised and will comply.
Welfare Check – 6:56 p.m. – 5600 block of Driftwood Ave. – The caller believed that the caller’s sister may be being abused by her boyfriend. The caller was at the boyfriend’s residence and advised that she recognized the smell of meth but it was unknown if it was from his residence or a neighbor’s. The caller was asked to leave the residence by the boyfriend’s mother.

September 9, 2020

Vandalism Report – 9:34 a.m. – 5500 block of Conifer Dr. – Three vehicles reportedly had tires slashed overnight. Police checked the area and found no further vehicles tampered with.
