Cypress City Council to consider Amazon last-mile facility at meeting on Nov. 23

The Cypress City Council Will Consider:

Project: Amazon Last Mile Facility Project- Certification of an Environmental Impact Report and Conditional Use Permit Number 3177.

Request: The project is located on an approximately 22.3-acre site located at the southwest corner of Katella Avenue and Holder Street at 6400–6450 Katella Avenue. The proposed project is the development of a 150,000 square-foot (sf) “last mile” logistics facility for Amazon, Inc. Currently on the project site are a 150,000 sf warehouse, a 180,000 sf office building, and 70,000 sf of other auxiliary building space. The proposed facility will occupy the existing 150,000 sf warehouse building. The existing 180,000 sf office building fronting on Katella Ave. will remain. All other auxiliary buildings will be demolished. The project is located in the Cypress Corporate Center Amended Specific Plan.

The City Council will hold a virtual public hearing to consider the certification of the Environmental Impact Report and the applicant’s request for approval of Conditional Use Permit Number 3177 for the above-described project at the date and time listed above.

The City encourages and invites all interested parties to participate in the public hearing.

Environmental Consideration: The environmental impacts of the project have been assessed in an Environmental Impact Report (State Clearinghouse No. 2020069007) per CEQA Guidelines Section 15161.
