On June 10, 2011 at approximately 2:24 a.m., officers from the Cypress Police Department responded to a burglary alarm call at the Clarion Corporation, 6200 Gateway Drive. Upon their arrival, 2 officers observed a male subject run from the rear of the building and act as a “lookout.” Within a short time, officers heard the sound of a vehicle’s engine and moments later saw a white colored van leave the scene at a high rate of speed, crashing through a chain-link gate.

The fleeing vehicle was pursued by another officer. The vehicle crashed a short distance later when it traveled too fast when making a right turn onto Valley View Street. The white van collided with a tree and subsequently rolled over, trapping both subjects inside the vehicle. Both subjects were eventually removed from the vehicle and taken into custody. One of the subjects was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries.

During the course of the investigation, it was learned that the suspects cut through a lock to get past a security gate and then pried open a roll-up door to gain entry into the warehouse. Additionally, it was determined that some of the property located in the vehicle was stolen from both the Clarion Corporation in Cypress and another business in Brea, California. A total amount of loss has not yet been determined. The white van was later reported stolen from a business in the city of Los Angeles.

Both subjects were booked at the Cypress City Jail for PC459-Commercial Burglary, PC496(a)-Possession of stolen property and VC2800.1(a)-Evade pursuing police. Their bail is set at $20,000 each. The subjects have since been transported to the Orange County Jail to await arraignment.
