January 2, 2019
Suspicious Vehicle – 2:07 a.m. – Myra/Ball – A police officer checked a suspicious vehicle that was running on Myra facing westbound. An airship was requested for an area check. Police could hear dogs barking. A subject was detained at Valley View/Fred. The vehicle was confirmed stolen by the Costa Mesa Police Department. The airship located a female subject, and a caller reported a subject was in their backyard. Police cleared the vehicle with a K-9 unit. Two subjects were detained by police on Myra. One subject was arrested for an outstanding warrant, and a second subject was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and receiving stolen property. The vehicle was towed from the location.
Traffic Collision – 5:16 p.m. – 5500 block of Orange Ave. – A Toyota Sienna and a Toyota Camry reported collided, and a female subject could not get out. Paramedics and a tow truck were requested. One subject was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of San Bernardino for driving with a suspended license, and a female subject was transported to the hospital for pain.

Counseling – 7:14 a.m. – 5200 block of Cumberland Dr. – The caller had reportedly been communicating with a subject on a dating website and the subject stated she had come across information that he was a sex offender and not supposed to be on that type of website. Counseled.
Hazard – 12:18 p.m. – Saint Alban/Cerritos – Lumber reportedly fell into the eastbound lanes of traffic and vehicles were going into the westbound lanes to avoid them. Public Works were requested to respond to remove the debris. The debris was removed from the roadway.
January 6, 2019
Disturbance (Family) – 9:21 a.m. – 5200 block of Yorkshire Dr. – The caller’s boyfriend was reportedly upset and was throwing her belonging out of the front door. Both parties were counseled, and the female half left for the day.
Animal Welfare Check – 4:12 p.m. – 5000 block of Sequoia Ave. – The caller’s neighbor reportedly moved out of their residence and appeared to leave a dog in the backyard, and the dog had been barking for the past few days. The dog was large but friendly. Police made contact with the owner, who advised that the dog was barking due to it being cold outside and his kennel was not at the residence since they moved on Tuesday. The dog was fed and put into the garage.

Grand Theft – 4:04 p.m. – 6800 block of Katella Ave. – The caller reported the loss of four Dyson vacuum cleaners. The caller said that it was related to a national alert for a subject in the business’s alert system.
Animal Cruelty – 6:52 p.m. – 4300 block of Pearl Ct. – The caller’s cat was reportedly shot with a BB gun while outside around 4 a.m. The cat usually walks on the caller’s rear and side wall. The caller stated that there was a neighbor to the rear who had minor misunderstandings with them. Counseling.

Property Destruction – 10:10 a.m. – 11500 block of Java St. – The reporting party had a shotgun and ammunition for destruction.
Fraud Report – 3:09 p.m. – 8700 block of LaSalle St. – The reporting party stated that some gift cards he bought were already used. Police were unable to establish a crime. The reporting party believed that the cashier stole money from him and wanted the security team to access the camera and systems to verify if the reporting party was a victim of a crime.
January 9, 2019
Suspicious Subject – 4:55 p.m. – 6800 block of Katella Ave. – A female subject who was known for taking formula was reportedly inside the store. The subject took a stroller along with the formula into the fitting room. When she exited the fitting room, the caller could no longer see the formula. There was a second subject with her and a child in the stroller. The formula was in the bottom of the stroller. The subject selected and concealed a total of eight formulas. Two subjects detained and subsequently arrested for petty theft.
Unknown Trouble – 9:01 p.m. – Undisclosed location – Approximately 10 subjects were reportedly outside, two of the with guns. The caller could hear a lot of yelling and fighting. No shots were heard. The subjects were possibly gang-related. One subject arrested on three outstanding misdemeanor warrants out of San Bernardino on Vehicle Code violations.
