On Thursday, January 31st from 6:00pm-7:30pm, the Boys & Girls Club of Cypress and Cypress Council PTA will be partnering to host a Family Wellness Night at Clara J. King Elementary (8710 Moody St). All youth and their families from schools in the Cypress, Los Alamitos, and Long Beach School Districts are invited to participate. Enjoy a free dinner together before participating in engaging breakout sessions featuring resources from OCAPICA, Western Youth Services, and New Hope.
Breakout session topics for parents will include Healthy Coping for Families and Parenting: Positive Principles in Youth. In the Healthy Coping session, learn different types of approaches to cope with emotions, everyday tasks, and stressors in your life. In Parenting: Positive Principles, you will empower, enhance, and become an asset builder for youth in your family and community using research-based training with interactive tools.
Activities for kids such as yoga, fitness challenges, nutrition activities and more will be available during the breakout sessions and facilitated by Planet Fitness in Cerritos.
